2019-2020 NEISA AWARDS
NEISA Awards Committee announces this years All NEISA Teams, Sailors of the Year, Babineau Trophy, Women's Crew of the Year, Rookies of the Year, Coed and Women Sportsperson of the Year, Senior Trophy, Student Leadership, and Coach of the Year.

COED SKIPPERS
All-NEISA Women's Skippers are selected using the competitive record of each candidate. This record consists of each candidate’s individual results in Inter-conference competitions, In-conference and Collegiate National Championship competitions, if any. In determining the quantity and quality of a record, the committee has particular regard for the following factors:

How the record compares to those of fellow competitors

The quality of competition in which the record was achieved

Results achieved competing with different skippers and crews

Whether the record spans the Fall and/or Spring seasons

How the record compares to those of All-NEISA sailors selected in previous years

Coed Regatta scores shall not be counted for Women’s All-NEISA but shall be used for quantity of regattas sailed.

WOMEN SKIPPERS
ALL-NEISA Women's Crews are selected using the competitive record of each candidate, judged in a manner similar to that of a skipper along with:

Demonstrated leadership (may consider seniority).

Demonstrated outstanding body mechanics and boat handling skills.

Proven ability to improve the results of the skipper(s) with whom he/she sails.
WOMEN'S CREWS
ALL-NEISA Coed Crews are selected using the competitive record of each candidate, judged in a manner similar to that of a skipper along with:

Demonstrated leadership (may consider seniority).

Demonstrated outstanding body mechanics and boat handling skills.

Proven ability to improve the results of the skipper(s) with whom he/she sails.
COED CREWS
NEISA awards Coed and Women's Sailor of the Year. Recognizing the most outstanding sailor in coed and women's competition.
SAILORS OF THE YEAR
The Babineau Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding crew in NEISA. The trophy was donated by the Coast Guard Academy in memory of Cadet Julie Babineau, killed in a summer sailing accident in 1981.

The Women's Crew of the Year Award recognizes the most outstanding crew in women's competitions.
BABINEAU AND WOMEN'S CREW OF THE YEAR
NEISA awards Coed and Women's Rookie of the Year. Recognizing the most outstanding rookie sailor in coed and women's competition.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
NEISA Sportsperson of the Year is awarded to the coed and women's sailor who has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout the year with nominations coming from fellow sailors.
SPORTSPERSONS OF THE YEAR
The NEISA Student Leadership Award recognizes extraordinary leadership and achievement by an undergraduate whose efforts have made a significant contribution to the development, progress, and successor his or her club or team and/or the conference. Demonstrated leadership over a period of years, rather than a single year, will receive the most consideration.
NEISA STUDENT LEADERSHIP
The Senior Trophy recongizes the senior who best exemplifies sailing achievement and sportsmanship as voted by the senior class.
SENIOR TROPHY
Coach of the Year is awarded to the NEISA coach as voted by fellow NEISA coaches.
