Senior Shawn Harvey ‘21 of Yale University has been named the NEISA COED Sailor of the Year. Shawn competed in eight events and finished third or better six times. Harvey sailed with NEISA crew of the year winner Graceann Nicolosi and their combined dominance through the fall and abbreviated spring season events puts him in a category with some of the best sailors to ever compete in College Sailing. Shawn's consistent score line at the most competitive regattas were only part of the story; he was also a great mentor to his young teammates and taught them how to compete at the highest level.
Senior Christine Klingler has been named the NEISA Women's Sailor of the Year. Christine competed in 6 events and won her division in 5 of them. Her dominance was felt by other teams in varying conditions, different boat types and Sailing venues. Her Best performance was at her home site at the Women's Yale Fall event. Christine and her crew Catherine Webb 21 dominated the event by finishing top 5 in all 13 races. The duo won A division by 43 points and helped the Bulldogs outlast Brown by 15 points for the win. Christine has been at the top of College Sailing for her entire career and led the Bulldogs to many victories. She is a positive ambassador to our sport. Her positivity and Sailing dominance will be missed by the Bulldog's, NEISA and ICSA as she graduates and moves on after College Sailing.
